Bentley Fragrances is proud to introduce three new scents in its exclusive Bentley Beyond collection: Radiant Osmanthus – a fruity floral scent; Mellow Heliotrope – a delicately powdery scent; Vibrant Hibiscus – an exuberant floral scent.
Each exquisite scent is captured in a luxurious, heavy glass bottle, with a thick base. Inspired by the signature cut-crystal headlights of the Bentley Continental GT, the glass has a satin-like effect. Each bottle is finished with a unique cap featuring coloured suede detailing and bearing the name of the scent itself.
This luxurious new wardrobe of scents for trailblazing women will satisfy their appreciation of high-quality materials, meticulous craftsmanship and originality. For such exacting customers, fragrance must be an individual statement and a true expression of their personality.
Women have always been part of Bentley’s history – the Bentley Boys may have set the pace on and off the race-track, but Bentley Girls refused to take a back seat, breaking motoring records and making their mark in inimitable Bentley style.
Women like Diana Barnato-Walker, daughter of Woolf ‘Babe’ Barnato, heir to a diamond fortune who bought Bentley Motors in 1926 and sealed his name in the annals of motor-racing history in the 1920s. Diana was a pioneering English aviator, a former Spitfire pilot who was the first British woman to break the sound barrier in 1963, thus establishing the air speed record for women.
Then there was Dorothy Paget, the heiress and race-horse owner, who was responsible in the late 1920s for financing the team of supercharged Bentley Blowers created by Sir Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin. Without her largesse in funding a private racing team based in Welwyn, the four racers would never have been built.
To celebrate the proud heritage of these adventurous and ingenious women, Bentley Fragrances offers three unique perfumes, each interpreting the individual characteristics of a unique flower to express the character of the exceptional women who wear them. Difficult to find … impossible to forget.
Bentley Beyond – The Collection For Her follows the first trio of unisex fragrances launched in 2019. Matching peerless ingredients with far-flung destinations – Exotic Musk for Acapulco, Mexico, Majestic Cashmere for Goa, India, Wild Vetiver for Java, Indonesia and Rich Pimento for Havana, Cuba – the original Bentley Beyond collection has expanded to include the floral world, opening a new, more feminine realm of colours and emotions to explore.
A trio of fragrances
Composed by the Grasse-born master perfumer Karine Dubreuil Sereni, the three beautifully composed fragrances are as harmonious and sophisticated as the modern Bentley woman.
Showcasing the exotic flower that most vividly expresses her persona, each fragrance of Bentley Beyond -The Collection for Her translates a different personality into scent, colour and emotion.
The sparkling charm of Radiant Osmanthus, a joyful fruity floral for the lively, luminous woman who brightens every room she walks into with her inner light.
The amazing grace of Mellow Heliotrope, a delicately powdery scent for the sensitive, softly sensual woman who thrives in intimate situations.
The flamboyant style of Vibrant Hibiscus, an exuberant floral for the exciting, self-confident woman who sparks up passions wherever she goes.
The sparkling charm of Radiant Osmanthus, a fruity floral scent
“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.” Frances Hodgson Burnett.
To translate her radiant aura into scent, Karine Dubreuil Sereni has chosen a magical flower: osmanthus. A tiny orange bloom from Asia with amazing facets of juicy apricot, delicate green tea and velvety suede.
In the top notes, sparkling mandarin and bright orange blossom match the flower’s sunny colour. The ruby flesh of blood peach make the osmanthus heart as delectable as the woman who wears it. The sweet, airy scent of wild jasmine expresses her spontaneous femininity.
Light-hearted and effortlessly elegant, base notes of creamy sandalwood, white amber and musks express the sparkling charm of Radiant Osmanthus with skin-soft aromas.
Karine Dubreuil Sereni comments: “The woman I envisioned when I composed Radiant Osmanthus is self-confident and joyful, but never ostentatious. She exudes charm naturally. For me, the apricot colour and scent of the osmanthus flower reflect her sunny character, while its suede facet express her inner depth.”
The amazing grace of Mellow Heliotrope, a floral oriental fragrance
“A flower does not think of competing with a flower next to it. It just blooms.” Zen Shin.
The flower that best expresses her sweet but compelling character is heliotrope, a purple Mediterranean charmer whose name means “turns towards the sun”. With wafts of vanilla and anise, its powdery fragrance is a perfume in itself.
To complement these softly sensual facets, Dubreuil Sereni has picked a palette of pink and purple notes. The fragrance opens with crisp blackcurrant bud, accented with pink pepper. A playful strawberry heart introduces a romantic mauve bouquet of violet and heliotrope. A touch of vanilla and praline enhance its subtle facets in an exquisitely seductive trail.
“I adore heliotrope. To me, it is one of the most feminine notes in the perfumer’s palette. But though it is extremely feminine, it is elegant rather than provocative. When I composed it, I imagined a soft, sensual woman who wants a scent that is delicately enveloping yet very diffusive and unforgettable,” says Dubreuil Sereni.
The flamboyant style of Vibrant Hibiscus, a floral perfume
“A woman should be like a single flower, not a whole bouquet.” Anna Held.
A tropical beauty that thrives in the sun, the flamboyant hibiscus reflects her vibrant character. Because the flower doesn’t yield its essence, Dubreuil Sereni imagines it with an exuberant bouquet in every hue of pink and red.
The scent opens with a dab of cassis and Italian mandarin, trickling into a lush floral heart of scarlet peony, crimson Turkish rose and a pink hibiscus accord, with the heady sensuousness of jasmine as a contrast to the fiery palette.
Exotic sandalwood and Indonesian patchouli underline the assertive yet elegant character of Vibrant Hibiscus in the warm, sensual drydown.
Dubreuil Sereni remarks: “I had to invent the scent of hibiscus, since there is no extract, so I drew my inspiration from the intensity of its colour and the fragility of its corolla. Between the lushness of a Turkish rose and the freshness of peony, my hibiscus accord expresses the contrasts of a passionate woman’s personality.”
A sophisticated flacon reflects the luxury codes of Bentley
Drawing on the expertise of Bentley’s design studio, the flacon and packaging of Bentley Beyond, The Collection for Her uphold the same exacting standards and attention to detail as the marque’s cars.
Bentley designer Chris Cooke comments: “The design of the flacon was a representation of the elegant fragrances contained within, and as such drew inspiration from one of our most elegant and noticeable elements of the Bentley Continental GT; the crystal cut inspired headlamps.
“It is a privilege to work closely with master perfumers who share our passion for attention to detail and are able to create such wonderful emotion through signature scent.”
To reflect the different personalities of the Bentley women captured in the scents, each fragrance has its distinctive colours, both in the handstitched suede cap that reprises the interior of a Bentley car and the tint of the scent, showcased by the soft satin glass of the bottle: Velvety apricot for Radiant Osmanthus; soft mauve for Mellow Heliotrope; deep pink for Vibrant Hibiscus.
The majestic faceted flacon is inspired by the signature cut-crystal glass headlights of the Continental GT. The stability of the heavy 400-gramme bottle is delivered by a thick glass base. The legendary emblem is engraved on the silver metal shoulders of the flacon.
The elegant coffret is covered in a soft-touch leather grain paper. The label, in the same colour as the cap of each scent, bears the names of the collection, of the fragrance, and of the destination that inspires it.
