Sony Brings Cinema Home With Its Latest BRAVIA™ TVs, Promising Unparalleled Brightness And Superior Sound For The Ultimate Cinematic Experience.
- Sony’s 2024 home entertainment lineup merges Bravia TVs with home audio products, aiming to deliver a cinematic experience at home.
- The Bravia lineup focuses on authenticity, leveraging Sony’s relationships and technology to provide immersive visual and audio experiences, including QD-OLED and Mini LED TVs.
Sony (SNEJF) introduced their 2024 home entertainment lineup in April, for the first time combining home audio products like soundbars and speakers under its Bravia family of TVs.
Sony has designed its 2019 lineup to create the experience of cinema in your own home, including OLEDs, QD-OLEDs (Quantum Dot OLEDs), LED and Mini LED TVs as well as soundbars, wearable neck speakers and four speakers that work in unison – with its flagship Bravia 9 likely emerging as one of this year’s must-have Mini LED TVs and the entire Bravia range being on offer here at TheStreet’s hands-on review of each product here.
As promised, here is some exclusive audio footage of an interview I held with Tyler Ishida, Co-President of Sony Electronics North America.
Ishida quickly noted that Sony had been working towards its transition to Bravia for an extended period, engaging creators, filmmakers and engineers on many different facets ranging from cameras on sets and soundstages to professional monitors like BVM-HX3110 used during film shoots.
Sony’s Bravia lineup draws upon their longstanding relationships and history in this space, according to Ishida, and is designed to deliver an authentic cinematic experience for consumers – especially filmmakers looking to shoot or edit using Sony equipment.
This year, Sony is increasing its commitment to producing realistic visuals while upholding creator intent by increasing fidelity of visual presentation on Bravia 9 or Bravia 3 screens, so as to provide users with a cinematic experience as authentic and immersive as possible. Ishida hopes those selecting one or the other understand “Sony’s dedication towards upholding creator intent by offering products which deliver immersive cinematic experiences”.
Sony has taken two approaches this year when it comes to flagships: QD-OLED and Mini LED offerings are on offer; customers have free reign over which one they prefer. A95L QD-OLED remains alongside Mini LED-powered Bravia 9 Ishida was very pleased to note the Bravia 9 offers up to 50% higher brightness levels and 300% additional zones than previous Sony models and is “Sony’s brightest model ever”, boasting of its “ultimate cinematic experience” design; additionally it uses an all-new, smaller driver to control many miniature LEDs introduced earlier 2024.
Sony offers superior technology across both panel types, so we do not discourage or suggest to our customers which technology they should choose from based on which is superior; rather we focus on finding what technology best meets the consumer’s needs.” Ishida was clear to highlight how outstanding OLED TV Sony had made so far was the A95L as it “is one of our finest creations to date. “
Sony is offering their latest OLED television this year: the Bravia 8. As with its A95L predecessor and other Sony OLEDs such as Bravia 3, 7 and 9, this OLED offers new software updates such as Voize Zoom 3, an eco dashboard to track consumption levels and an exclusive calibration mode dedicated for Prime Video viewing.
As Sony isn’t alone when it comes to offering OLED, QD-OLED, LED and Mini LED televisions, Ishida stated “Our goal is to deliver both software and hardware needed to satisfy consumer demands for these televisions. Sony constantly explores different use cases and benefits leading to breakthrough innovations; thus making television and audio at home increasingly central pieces.”
Sony makes sense in consolidating all their products under one umbrella, with an emphasis on creating the ultimate cinematic experience in our own homes. Early experiences with TVs and audio products from their 2024 Bravia family were impressive; Sony is clearly committed to offering cinema-grade experiences for us all.
