Porsche Launches Digital Charging Service for Electric Vehicles

Innovative charging service for plug-in and electric vehicles: With the “Porsche Charging Service”, the sports car manufacturer now offers a digital platform for all charging processes. The service looks for suitable charging stations and takes over the billing via centrally stored payment data – transnational and currency-independent. The respective registration with the different operators does not apply. The associated, free app and the Porsche navigation system guide the customers to the selected charging station.

Porsche Charging Service: Comfortable payment process centrally via the app

The app provides information about the location and availability of the charging stations as well as the price of charging in real time. At the charging station, the identification either takes place via QR code via the app or via the so-called “Porsche ID Card”, which users receive free of charge after registering for the service. Currently the charging service is available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Finland. Other countries will follow successively from the end of 2018. In Germany, the use of the Porsche Digital Charging Service costs € 2.50 per month. In addition, there are the charges for the charging itself, which are dependent on the operator and the respective amount of electricity. The Digital Charging Service app can be used on all mobile devices with iOS or Android operating system and is now available for download. Basically, the service of all drivers of hybrid or electric vehicles can be used, a limitation on Porsche vehicles does not exist. Registration is possible via www.porsche.com/connect-store.
