Nakheel welcomes Dubai Metro extension

RTA’s Route 2020 project a ‘major boost’ for Nakheel communities, says developer

More than 110,000 people who live in some of Nakheel’s biggest and fastest-growing communities are set to benefit from the RTA’s Route 2020 Dubai Metro extension, the developer said today.

The 15 kilometre expansion will directly serve Nakheel’s Gardens, Discovery Gardens and Al Furjan communities, and provide nearby Metro access for residents of Jumeirah Park, Jumeirah Islands and Jumeirah Village Triangle.

Welcoming the RTA’s expansion plans, a Nakheel spokesman said:  “The Dubai Metro extension is a major boost for these communities – and the wider area known as New Dubai – both in terms of the residents who live in them and investors who have bought land or homes in them.  Residents will benefit from a transport alternative to the car, while the value of investors’ properties will be enhanced.”

Dubai’s residents and visitors will also enjoy enhanced access to Nakheel’s Ibn Battuta Mall in Jebel Ali, under the Metro expansion plans.  The Ibn Battuta Metro station is one stop away from the Nakheel Harbour and Tower station, from where the extension begins.
