Marc Jacobs’ Inspiring Icons for Winter 2015
After recently walking the red carpet with Marc Jacobs at the Met Gala in New York, pop diva Cher is now one of the faces in the designer’s Fall-Winter 2015 fashion campaign, joining other icons from the world of music in a series about inspiration.
Cher, Willow Smith and Anthony Kiedis, the Red Hot Chili Peppers front man, are three of the faces in the Marc Jacobs Fall-Winter 2015 advertising campaign revealed so far. Three powerful personalities, three styles from three periods each illustrating the diversity and unique, eclectic vision that define the designer’s style. The campaign celebrates strong and inspiring individuals, resonating with the collection presented by the House this season. Inspired by the meticulous extravagance of Diana Vreeland, the legendary editor of Vogue, the collection features baroque silhouettes with ample, affirmed structures.
In 2015, Marc Jacobs has unified his different lines under a single label this year, forging a coherent artistic vision. The new campaign starring icons is also a tribute to the talented individuals who have supported the House and nurtured Marc Jacobs’ own creativity. In his first campaign in 1998 he worked with Juergen Teller to photograph the artist Kim Gordon. Since then, an exceptional lineup – including Sofia Coppola, Dakota Fanning, Charlotte Rampling, Kate Moss and Rufus Wainwright – have all revealed themselves before the camera to embody clothes created by one of the most inventive American designers of his generation.
