Geneva Motor Show 2017: Ferrari Unveils 812 Superfast
Ferrari’s new V12, the 812 Superfast, was unveiled to the usual crowds at the Geneva Motor Show. With its 800 hp output, 60 hp more than the F12berlinetta, the 812 Superfast is now the highest performance and most powerful Ferrari road car of all time, thus opening a new era in the history of 12-cylinder cars from Maranello. In Geneva the 812 Superfast was presented in two versions: in “Rosso Settantanni” red, the launch colour specially created for the occasion, and in Matte Warm Grey.
The stand also displays other models in the current range including the 8-cylinder turbos sporting an engine that was awarded a prize in 2016 as the best in the world: the 488 GTB in Three Layer Yellow, the 488 Spider in “Rosso Corsa” red. The California T appears in “Bianco Italia” white. Then of course there has to be an example of the 4-seater and 4-wheel drive and steering V12s, the GTC4Lusso in Nero Stellato black.
Another car, part of the Tailor Made programme created to celebrate Ferrari’s 70th anniversary, makes its appearance in Geneva. Seventy liveries have been inspired by Maranello’s extraordinary tradition, with the range divided into five models and a total of 350 specimens. A 488 GTB is on show in “Rosso Corsa” red, “Blu Laguna” blue and “Giallo Modena” yellow, inspired by the 290 MM driven by Juan Manuel Fangio in the Mille Miglia in 1956, dominated by Ferrari that took the top four positions.
