Etihad Airways selects PROS® revenue management cloud solution to enhance business operations

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and PROS® (NYSE: PRO), a big data software company, today announced the signing of a strategic agreement that will see the airline migrate its PROS Origin & Destination (O&D) revenue management solution to the cloud to support its rapidly expanding business operations.

For more than a decade, Etihad Airways has leveraged PROS innovative smart applications to help drive performance in its business. By migrating PROS O&D revenue management solution to the cloud, the airline will gain greater and faster access to PROS’ ongoing innovations, enabling it to efficiently and consistently expand the value of the solutions across the company. The end-to-end PROS solution focuses on flexibility and scalability, underpinned by a secure and resilient infrastructure.

Etihad Airways’ Chief Information and Technology Officer, Robert Webb, said: “This agreement is in line with our Technology and Innovation strategy of enabling common platforms and reusable solutions that reduce costs, increase efficiency and drive value across Etihad Airways and our partner airlines. This year, the technology will be made available to our partner airline Alitalia.

PROS O&D cloud solution helps Etihad Airways optimise revenue through data-driven, demand forecasting techniques and global network optimisation. The solution uses data science to manage market demand challenges, capture emerging patterns and trends, and differentiate price and availability for guests, allowing the airline to make informed pricing decisions.
