Easier Online Transactions for Consumers using AXS Internet and Mobile App, with Masterpass
Consumers can pair their Masterpass digital wallet with AXS mobile app for a hassle-free bill payment experience
No one looks forward to paying bills, especially when the process tends to be a cumbersome one. With the availability of MasterpassTM, Mastercard’s digital payment service on AXS e-Station and AXS m-Station, consumers can now complete their bill payments – in double-quick time. Launched yesterday, consumers can pair their Masterpass wallets with AXS m-Station to complete their payments quickly and safely.
Masterpass is available on both the AXS m-Station (app) and e-Station (browser) platforms and consumers can create a digital wallet and securely store card information. AXS has also included an exclusive Mastercard acceptance payment option which allows consumers to settle their payments with their MasterCard cards. Prior to this, consumers paying via the AXS mobile app could only complete their transaction via eNETS Debit or DBS PayLah!
How it works: on the homepage of the AXS m-Station, there are two new options on the main menu – “Pay by Masterpass” and “Pay by Mastercard”. For consumers new to Masterpass, they can click on the link at the bottom of the screen for a one-time registration and create their Masterpass wallet.
Once a Masterpass wallet has been created, they can click “Connect with Masterpass” to pair their digital wallet with the AXS m-Station in just six simple steps. The next time they wish to make a payment, they simply enter their Masterpass password, select the appropriate card in their digital wallet and complete the payment transaction by entering the SMS OTP sent by their issuing bank.
Alternatively, the “Pay by Mastercard” option will enable consumers to use their Mastercard cards to make payments securely by keying in their card credentials and SMS OTP. For both options, the use of debit cards will allow payment for all bills while the use of credit cards will allow payment for any bills except credit cards bills and loans.
“Settling bills are part and parcel of everyday life. What we have done is leverage an already convenient platform on AXS e-Station and AXS m-Station to make payments even simpler. The availability of Masterpass within the AXS m-Station app makes the process of paying bills more user-friendly and better serves the needs of the time-starved Singapore consumer,” says Deborah Heng, group head and general manager, Mastercard Singapore.
“We are excited about this strategic partnership with Mastercard, which extends our payment offerings on the AXS e-Station and AXS m-Station to Mastercard cardholders. Additionally, with Masterpass, the ability to link their electronic devices to AXS will enable customers to make payment in a quick and convenient manner,” said Mr. Chin Mun Chung, Assistant CEO of AXS
The Masterpass merchant app has also proved to be popular for users of the ComfortDelgro mobile app, which enables commuters to make payments easily when booking taxis. Launched in October last year, ComfortDelGro integrated Masterpass in their taxi booking app, allowing consumers to pair their Masterpass account with the app and pay for taxi rides with just the click of a button.
Pay your bills on AXS e-Station and m-Station and get rewarded
From 1 August 2016 to 31 December 2016, Mastercard cardholders who make bill payments with their Mastercard or via Masterpass on the AXS m-Station (app) and e-Station (browser) will stand to win a 2D1N staycation at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa. 20 winners will be selected every month, and cardholders are entitled to one chance per unique bill paid with their Mastercard and three chances per unique bill paid via Masterpass. As a bonus, Mastercard cardholders who make payment via Masterpass on the AXS m-Station (app) will receive an additional $5 ComfortDelgro taxi e-voucher with every unique bill paid, with a minimum value of $50 per transaction.
