Construction Starts On New Global Headquarters For Metlife Investments
LEED® GOLD-CERTIFIED, 185,000-s.f. OFFICE COMPLEX IN HANOVER, N.J.
NEW YORK, April 21, 2015 – MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) announced today that construction has begun on a new global headquarters for its investments business in Hanover, N.J. The new, four-story office complex will be LEED® Gold-certified and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2016.
MetLife Investments will move all 850 employees from its current location in Morristown, N.J., where it has been located for 15 years. The new headquarters will be about 2.5 miles from the current location.
“Our investments business has grown significantly in size, scope and scale, and this new state-of-the-art global headquarters will help enable us to continue to provide all of our partners and clients with world-class investment products,” said Steven J. Goulart, executive vice president and chief investment officer for MetLife. “We are looking forward to moving into our new offices, which will provide a well-designed work environment as well as many amenities for our associates.”
MetLife Investments manages a portfolio of nearly half a trillion dollars across many asset sectors, including: corporate and government bonds, structured finance, real estate debt and equity, agriculture, sustainable investments and assets the company manages for external clients.
In addition to its headquarters in New Jersey, MetLife Investments has regional offices throughout the United States as well as in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
MetLife has contracted with Vision Real Estate and Rubenstein Partners for the construction of the facility. Cushman & Wakefield brokered the deal.
