Chuck Taylor All Star Ben-G
Converse Inc. announces the release of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Pro OP “Ben-G” sneaker, created in collaboration with world renowned Dutch skateboard shop store Ben-G. The sneaker pays homage to the shop’s co-founder Benny Komala through the symbol on the tongue which is a copy of his ‘sad eyes’ tattoo, two stripes and a tear placed on his index finger. < describe it – what/where is it? >.
Established in 2005, Ben-G is Amsterdam’s premier skate store, housing some of the best brands in the industry. It is also known for supporting a large roster of professional skaters as well as some visual artists, creating a community that connects through skating and creativity. Listening closely to that community inspired the design of the CTAS Pro Ben-G, with Benny creating a premium and minimalistic update that offers both style and functionality.
The CTAS Pro OP “Ben-G” is a new spin on the popular CTAS Pro that incorporates a rubber overlay, or ollie patch, for added durability and protection when skating. The upper of the sneaker is made of premium, perforated leather with a solid white outsole and toecap, with Ben-G branding on both the exterior and interior of the tongue. As is customary to all CTAS Pro models, the sneaker has a Lunarlon sockliner for enhanced cushioning and a traction rubber outsole for better board feel.
The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Pro OP “Ben-G” will be available for purchase in limited quantities on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 for a SRP of €100 EUR at Ben-G in Amsterdam and other skate specialty retailers globally, and online at converse.com.
