American Express Launches Amex Pay ™, Its Application To Make Payments For Services

• With a growing trend in online payment transactions with American Express – this channel grew 37% in the number of payments in 2020 and continues to rise – the company offers its customers the ability to pay for services from their phone quickly and safely .
• From 2 to 31 August inclusive, customers of all American Express Cards paying services through the Amex Pay application ™ , will receive a 25% refund with a ceiling of $ 500 pesos for each payment made to businesses participants (*) .

American Express launches Amex Pay ™ the digital payment solution for taxes, telephony, cable, internet, and insurance, among others. Through the application, customers will be able to access information on pending payments with details of the amount and due date and exclusive promotions, both from its web version and from the mobile application available for IOS and Android.

The use of online channels to make payments for services with American Express Cards, which includes virtual wallets and the ecommerce of each company, has been growing rapidly year after year and the pandemic accelerated this trend even more.

“In 2020 the volume of payment for services made with American Express Cards online grew by 53% in contrast to the automatic debit of the industry, for example, which grew by 19%. As of July of this year, the growth is 56% compared to the same period of the previous year ” , stated Paula Ramos Mejía, commercial manager of Establishments of American Express Argentina. “We accompany this trend with our own development that will allow American Express customers to consolidate their payments in one place and operate quickly and safely, and have the personalized service of our brand,” added the executive.

Greater financing: clients have the possibility of extending their service payment terms since it is paid on the card closing date (and not at the expiration of the service)

TECHNOLOGY AT YOUR HAND

Amex Pay ™ can be downloaded for free from the Play Store (Android) or Apple Store (IOS). A new user must be registered or the American Express username and password must be used for those members who already have one. And then load the data of the American Express Cards.

Thanks to the secure lock security system, Amex Pay ™ (from its Web and Mobile platforms) can be used on various devices. Every time a new device is detected, security mechanisms will be triggered to validate the identity of the user who is entering.
