Air Peace Becomes Airline of Choice for Prince Harry and Meghan’s Visit to Lagos
West and Central Africa’s biggest airline, Air Peace, has received British royal approval as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, embarked on their journey from Abuja to Lagos and back on board the airline’s flight, as part of the royal couple’s three-day visit to Nigeria recently.
The Sussexes and their entourage were on board an Air Peace charter flight, operated with one of the airline’s brand new Embraer 195-E2 aircraft, to Lagos from the country’s capital, Abuja.
The couple were received in Lagos by top-tier military officials, Air Peace Chairman, Dr Allen Onyema and other principal government functionaries, with a cultural display by a dance troupe at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos on May 12, 2024.
The purpose of their visit to Lagos included a series of engagements, reflecting their interest in various aspects of Nigerian society and culture. Following their commitments in Lagos, the royal couple returned to Abuja, opting for Air Peace as their mode of travel.
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, landed in Nigeria on May 10, 2024, to promote the Invictus Games, a project Harry started to aid in the recovery of injured and ill military personnel and veterans, including Nigerian troops involved in a 14-year battle against Boko Haram insurgents.
